Kyle Drum Resume

1993-1996

         Started racing at the age of 8 winning the championship at GVKC a paved road course. Raced Karts for 4 years winning 3 championships

1997-1999

         Raced Micro Sprint for 3 years winning a championship in 1999

2000-2006

Moved to 360 sprints in 2000 at the age of 15. Won his first feature in his second race. Finished 3rd in points at two tracks

ESS Rookie of the Year in 2001 & the youngest driver to win a feature in club history at 17.

2002 Won the prestigious ESS/URC Challenge Race from the last starting row at the age of 18

2007-2009

 moved into the Late Models, first car ever with fenders. Finished 3rd and 4th in points at two tracks

2008 Won a Fastrak North East Tour Race at McKean County. Won first time ever at Dog Hollow

2009 Won season opener at McKean County in Late Model. Started driving for PJ Motorsports in Sprint Car once again. Finished 3rd at Eriez and qualified for the Canadian Nationals at Oshweken.

2010 Driving for Roan Racing, Kyle moved into the 410 sprints. Team ended the season with top 5 finishes at Clinton County Raceway

2011 Driving for Roan Racing once again finishing 3rd in points at Clinton County Raceway in the shorten season.

 

Kyle has driven and won in karts, caged karts, micro sprints, full sized sprints, and late models. He was raced on 52 different tracks in the US and Canada, with 42 feature wins.

Kyle has won many other awards, Sportsman of the Year, Most Improved Driver, Most Popular Driver, and Rookie of the year (3 times).

Kyle was born on August 7, 1984. He has lived in Wayland his entire life, graduating from Wayland Cohocton Central school in 2002. He spent the winter of 2002-03 in Hickory NC with plans to drive in the NASCAR truck series. Those plans did not materialize as all had hope. By April of 2003 he was back in NY and back in sprint cars.

Kyle and Natasha were married on New Years Eve 2008. The live in Wayland in a big old farm house they purchased. They have spent many hours and dollars renovating their home.

Kyle is employed by RW Dake of East Rochester. He is a carpenter by trade but oversees several projects at a time in the Cornig, Ithica, Binghamton areas.
